Training Information

Due to conflicting fire service training schedules, the S-212 chainsaw sawyers classes scheduled for May 2017 will be postponed.  I anticipate rescheduling these classes for sometime next winter or early spring.

Lake-Mendo Unit will host a certified chainsaw bucking class.  This class is intended for any member wishing to utilize a chainsaw for trail maintenance.  This class conforms to BCHC Chainsaw Policy, as well and NWCG S-212 Bucking requirements.  Sessions for Bucking participants will be Saturday, May 6th at the Lower Lake Fire Station (Main Street, Lower Lake), and, Sunday, May 14th at the Lower Lake Cemetery, (Lake Street, Lower Lake).

Students will be required to bring their chainsaw and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to both classes.  The Saturday (5/6) session will be lecture and power-point presentations, followed by an equipment safety inspection.  The Sunday (5/14) session will be a day of saw work, followed by a short written test.
